Creating 3-D models was an especially arduous task. It required using the measurements on the spec. sheets of the electronic components, in order to make cuts. For example, the diameter of the a rotary encoder had to be measured to make the proper extrusion in SolidWorks. Then the size and positioning had to be analyzed.
Furthermore the controller must be designed around internal circuitry. This main spacial requirement is due to wiring, because wires occupy majority of the internal volume.
Further down the line, mechanical stability tests will have to be conducted on the attachment mechanism.
